How to motivate yourself through 2016

With the New Year upon us how many of you have set yourself up for success in 2016? A ‘New Year, New You’ requires you to have some actionable plans to succeed, but first you must start with a goal. Do you want to turn a new leaf to be healthy? Maybe you want to get into the best shape of your life? Whatever your goal may be, you must action now!

Statistics show that most people who set a new years resolution give up before the end of February (sometimes earlier!). You don’t want to become part of this statistic, do you? Me neither, which is why I like to write my goals down every year to have something to aim for. I like to get really specific with what I want to achieve with both my health & fitness goals and my goals to become a better coach. To make sure you set the right goals, be sure to make them S.M.A.R.T.


Don’t just think about your goals, write them down and tell a friend or family member. You will instantly become accountable which WILL drive you to achieve what you set out. Publicising your goals will and should make you nervous but this will flick that switch in your head to take action and achieve them. Nobody likes to let anyone down or fail so this will help you stay on track and smash your goals for the entire year!
