It’s Healthy Eating Week!

The term ‘healthy eating’ often creates an image in our minds of Lettuce leaves and rabbit food, but this is not the case! Food education and eating well is more important than ever right now, in fact 63% of adults in the UK are now either overweight or obese, and diet-related disease accounts for roughly £5 billion worth of NHS spending each year.

To help promote and educate the benefits of eating well the British Nutrition Foundation now run Healthy Eating Week every year. One of the primary goals of the campaign is to get schools to support the health and wellbeing of their pupils. It’s not just through schools that we can make a difference to families’ diets though.  Here at Meridian we have developed truly wholesome recipes for all of the family, from breakfast ideas to post school or work snacks! We also work with some fantastic foodie bloggers who give us inspiration on ways to use our products that we hadn’t even thought of, and of course we share all of our favourite recipes on our blog with all of our fellow nutters!
